Last night’s dreams were highly visual. I was watching a film I had made, while also being in the story of the film at the same time. My sense of orientation was fluid, ground was bleeding into sky and I was dancing, staying low to my belly. My setting was a temple filled with image-writing in stone, long since carved but absolutely alive. The feeling was slithery-awe, rapture even. Later I opened a letter from a child who had written to me in the language of embroidery. I gasped with delight when I came across it.

There was also a lingering uncertainty, a question of how real this was, or if I belonged in these places that were communicating with me.

This is often the pattern of awakening to lineage that I have experienced, and seen reflected in my client work. The initial direct experience of what is being revealed to us is strong and clear; the beauty we experience, the indescribable connectedness arrives. And then we ask, is this real? Do I deserve this? Do I belong with this?

Some of what we are opening together in Somatic Scribing is this intersection of awakening lineages of meaning making that are relationally sane and creatively satisfying, and getting clear on what is keeping us from the full embrace of those lineages. And what is possible on the other side of the full embrace (innovations, next right steps, visioning, new paradigm birthing…).

Personally, I want to spend more time in the unfolding dream of my awakened lineages. In direct contact with the infinite forms of communication that Nature and Spirit come up with. Not only so we can work with better information and adjust our choices, but also because it’s fun.

We can’t get there alone. It’s hard to get there without curated scaffolding from practitioners who are intimately familiar with where we tend to get stuck, trapped, and closed off when we are going against the current of dominant culture(s).

I am looking forward to 12 weeks of dedicated study in how to stay in the path of more liberated meaning making. I don’t know exactly what will be revealed to us in this course, but I know I need it. Do you?
