Tabooboo TASTY is this Sunday
digest the mess in this ritual theater workshop
This Sunday we embark on Tabooboo TASTY! This is a taster of the ritual theater technique that allows us to reveal and play with the parts of ourselves or culture that are typically avoided, exiled, or craved. Normally this is a word-of-mouth, semi-closed play lab but we are opening it up in June for people who are new. If you've been curious, now is a good time to get involved.

more about Tabooboo
"Taboos" (From tapua, originally associated with "sacred" from the Pacific language of Tongan) in modern contexts are qualities, experiences, and roles that we avoid or crave individually and collectively. They are pain points, hot spots, numb spots, and exiled places that keep our systems stressed and our expression limited. They are the trauma gremlins that have us relating with our loved ones like vampyric toddlers.
"Tabooboos" (think sacred clown) are Nature's response to these distorted parts of self and culture. Benevolent tricksters who arise out of the current of the wrathful feminine to help these hot spots and pain points find the pulse of Eros (love and life) again. In the nondual (holistic) theater of the Mukta Reveal, everything has play-ability, because everything is the expression of Nature!
In Tabooboo Play we cultivate high integrity play by working from Totality, incorporating exiled elements like pain and exhaustion in our expression as opposed to narrow definitions of art or beauty (organic deviance). We will also train in how to ride out intense energy shifts and release without overwhelming ourselves or the collective field (ecstatic restraint). Our "techniques" will include meditation/contemplation, character development and interviews, live coaching, witnessing, and reflection processes.

Tabooboo Play is a response to the dire need for finding better ways to be with everything that colonialism and supremacy cultures wants us to ignore, malign, or become obsessed with. Informed by Animist Arts, Viewpoints, Buffon, Butoh, Systemic Constellations, Theater of the Oppressed, and many hours of experimenting in my living room . As always my knowledge of nervous system health, how organisms learn, and nondual animist relating will steward everything we do.
After developing Tabooboo Play for the last few years it is clear that it’s a practice that contains many microskills, and should be thought of as something you practice in the long term. Something more akin to a martial art, an elaborate dance style, or a healing modality.
I'm excited to bring a taster version to folks! And please understand that it will only be a teeny weeny taste of the thick ass jungle that is this practice.
For people who are interested in long-term training you can apply to join the Tabooboo tier on Mukta Reveal on Circle for monthly live events, tutorials, and more.
There are three pricing options available to provide a sliding scale. In order to provide sliding scale I had to make three separate events at different prices. You just need to select one of them to register. In order to sign up for the event you have to make an account for the circle community. This is a simple process and doesn’t mean you’re committing to anything other than this event. It’s just how Circle as a platform operates. It also means you get access to the public parts of the Mukta Reveal Circle community, where we host public events.
