Feral Village Theater: coming this Sunday

Part training space/ part ceremony/ part playground, Feral Village Theater is a confluence of ancestral technologies that address our needs for connection, artistic expression, relaxation, and spiritual vitality.

The first iteration of Feral Village Theater happens this Sunday, June 28th on zoom from 10am-12:30pmPT. Part of the new Feral Village tier on Mukta Reveal on Circle. Our first series of Feral Village Theater will focus on “Communion”, or the dance of shared recognition with Nature, Spirit, and Self.

Feral Village Theater happens once a month in the Feral Village tier, along with meditations, tutorials, special invites, and access to course materials and recordings.

About Feral Village Theater

We focus on the following skills and principles in this live playspace:

• familiarity with basic energetic hygiene and ritual theater structures

• developing capacity for spontaneous expression through a variety of mediums, with a strong emphasis on movement and sound.

• high integrity play, or the skill of aligning our playful choices with Wisdom

• Discernment inside of light trance states

• Intimacy with Nature, Spirit, and our own biological thresholds and nervous system health

Participants are welcome to join regardless of previous experience or arts background. However, you need to be ready for the possibility of having to breathe through moments of, “wait, what’s happening?” We are using the ancestral technology of artmaking to help us embody new, anti-supremacist paradigms, and that can feel challenging for some. Technically a drop-in space, best results come from treating it as an ongoing series that builds on itself.

This space is for people who:

🐵 Are longing to get out of their head and into the immediacy of life

😈 Are excited to let their weirdo, creature freak with a heart of gold show its true colors

💫 Have passion for or interest in utilizing ritual theater and animist artmaking to help us embody anti-supremacist paradigms

🤡 Feel like they’re always masking or holding in an infinite creative sneeze in other practice spaces that seem to be missing something

🌿 Want to unwind in a space that is both relaxing and stimulating (you are always welcome to just noodle around in the vibes and not talk to anyone)

More about what you’re getting into…

Feral Village Theater incorporates aspects of Tabooboo (a ritual theater technique used to address pain points and places of exile in our personal and collective experience), Systemic Constellations, Animist Arts, Viewpoints, Moment work, and (possibly!) Theater of the Oppressed. What we do in these sessions typically aligns with our arts focus in The Artist’s Boudoir.

These sessions are open to drop-ins, but you will get the most out of them if you treat them as a continuous series. 

This is embodied research into the aesthetic principles of Divine Intimacy and creative liberation. A live practice space to put concepts like “communion”, “primordial desire”, and “absolute nature” on their feet. An ongoing exploration of the South Asian tradition of “Rasa”, or liberation through aesthetic delight.

Grounded in practical play, held within simple ritual structures, and oriented toward Wisdom. This space aims to combine social relaxation and skill building in navigating challenging emotion and surfing into new paradigms.

For June 28th we are studying Communion through Shapeshifting

This session of Feral Village Theater will focus on the skill of Communion with the “other”, particularly our creature and landscape kin. Shapeshifting is an ancient practice that humans are drawn to naturally as a form of play, consciousness shifting, and ecological empathy. We will engage in this practice through energetics, meditation/contemplation, movement and sound exercises.
